Catch up...

A year since my last post?! I can hardly believe it. This year was a crazy busy one for my family and I. We sold our home in Colorado and moved to Vermont, where I'm originally from. I'm finally getting back to quilting and crafting and I'm looking forward to a productive year of finishing projects and using up stash.

What I'm working on today
It's a snowy day here in VT so I'm taking advantage and getting crafty. Of course all that craftiness is making me hungry so there's some cookie making thrown in there as well.

View from my kitchen window.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Swirl Cookies from Sally's baking addiction. She says these will keep 10 days covered in an airtight container, HA! Maybe if you sent the container to the moon in an unmanned shuttle! recipe

A few rows progress knitting my Tree of Life Afghan from Lion Brand. Free pattern here.

I worked on machine quilting my Turning 20 Again. It's sewn in some organic vegetable died quilting cotton I picked up years ago. This quilt feels like a monster under my machine, I can't remember what size it is, maybe a twin.  Slowly but surely it's getting done.

It feels good to be back on the blog. How's the weather where you are?

  6. Hi, this is Wanda, stopping by from Tidbits and Treasures and GYB. I took a peek at a couple of posts and laughed when I saw your knitted veggies--my daughter made those too! It's a small world, made that friendlier and more fun because of blogging connections. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  7. Hi Heather, Jean here from Tangle Street. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I have joined your blog because, besides Zentangle, I enjoy knitting, and cookies HAHA! Your swirly quilt looks a lot like a tangle pattern. Did you know that there are several books out there about Zentangle and quilting? Check it out!

  8. Hi Heather- we've got snow coming down here this morning, but thankfully not too much wind yet. And you're in beautiful Vermont- lucky you! My husband and I took a motorcycle trip to Bar Harbor, Maine about 10 years ago and while passing through managed (okay, I whined incessantly) to squeeze in an afternoon at the Shelburne Museum; it was absolutely wonderful. The antique quilts in their collection.......I just swoon to remember them.

Looks like you have some lovely projects to keep you warm and busy. I love the free motion quilting action on your Turning Twenty- thanks for sharing :)

  9. Hi Heather, Thanks for stopping by my blog. Love your cable-stitch afghan and knitted veggies. The cookies look scrumptious! We've had a few more inches of snow here overnight, and now we're heading into the deep freeze (again). Good weather to stay home and stitch!

  10. Hi Heather
It is so good to meet you. I found your blog through the sweet comment you left on mine. I love all the things you make. Fabric and yarn - so much yumminess. I see your family are still quiet young. It does get easier. I had 4 kids in 4.5 years. The youngest two are twins and they are the boy and girl. They are 19 now and in college. I sit here wondering where the time went and wish I could get it back. So enjoy those little people - they grow up way too quickly.

  11. I will be turning 40 this year & love the idea of "turning 20 again" because I don't feel 40. Whatever 40 feels like. LOL

I live in Washington County, NY near the border of VT. I can be in Arlington, Manchester, Bennington in about 45 minutes. It's cold, but we still have snow (got another inch yesterday). It's been so cold that it isn't snowman snow though.

Thanks for visiting my redwork/ embroidery blog yesterday. My follow button is working now if you would like to stop back...

  13. Hi Heather! Thanks for the comment on my blog! Your laundry comment made me laugh!
Your tree of life afghan is stunning! Truly stunning! I used to knit quite a few blankets, but haven't felt the call to knit in quite some time. It will call to me again and I'll pick up my turbo's. Until then I will stitch.

It was great meeting you! Also, can you send some of those delicious looking cookies my way?
